Another amazing testimony:

After taking a number of Spring and Summer bushcraft course across the State, I had the good fortune to attend Kelly Harlton’s recent 7-day Cold Weather Wilderness training in Dapp, Alberta. Without a doubt, it was the single best wilderness training experience of my entire life. Kelly Harlton is truly an outstanding teacher and embodies all of the qualities of an expert Instructor; he is patient, compassionate, thoughtful and a master of bushcraft skills in the Boreal Forest. He was competently assisted by co-instructors Perry Kulmatyski and Mike Zacharuk, who provided both good humor and support to students (like me) who sometimes struggled to complete certain projects during the training. In addition, Hayley Rothenberg provided excellent logistical support by coordinating daily meals and meeting the needs of students over the course of the training. Hayley made everything work well for the students. This is a fantastic team that cares about its students and what they are learning. Among many of Kelly’s talents is his ability to weave various wilderness survival topics and bushcraft skills together so that his training flows nicely and makes sense to his students. He helps the student develop the mindset to live in the wilderness, especially under harsh and at times freezing conditions. As the training progressed, I often found myself saying “Hmm, how would Kelly approach this problem?” or “What did I learn from his last talk that I should be thinking about in doing the current project?”. Kelly provided both a way of thinking in the wilderness and the development of the right attitude to face challenges.

I strongly recommend this course or any course that Kelly and his team teach to a student who earnestly wants to learn.

A special day! Bees were unwrapped for a peek & em A special day! Bees were unwrapped for a peek & emergency feed after being wrapped up since October. A long winter for bees & we discovered our bees were strong & in great numbers! What a surprise! Andrew made them sugar cake for a boost. They weren’t that happy to see us (hence full protection) mainly because no incoming food, cold weather, and things touching them. Mostly bees are quite docile. Well done Andrew Angus for making all this happen! 🐝
